Ayurveda History

Over 5000 years ago in ancient India, a health treatment system was developed called Ayurveda, the chronicle of Ayurveda starts from the time of the Vedas, most Holy books of hindus. Long ago mythology compete that the general notion and fundamental nature of Ayurveda was allow to appear by the creator of the world himself – Lord Brahma. There are four Vedas. They are

• Rig Veda
• Yajur Veda
• Sama Veda
• Atharva Veda

'Ayur' means 'life' in Sanskrit. It is believed that Lord Brahma narrated the ayurved and it was codified by the sage-physician Charaka and the sage-surgeon Shushruta. This ancient science is health specific, not disease specific and takes into account the patient's entire persona i.e. body, mind and spirit. Ayurveda is the most prehistoric science of healing which enhances longevity. Ayurveda is considered by many as the 'mother of healing.
